1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of RouteSafe's parent app, driver app, school admin module, and website (together, the "Services"). By creating an account, logging in, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Services on behalf of a school, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms on the school's behalf.
2. Who can use RouteSafe
The Services are intended for use by parents/guardians, school staff, and bus drivers affiliated with a school that has a relationship with RouteSafe. Accounts for children are not created directly by children; a child's route and attendance information is managed by their parent/guardian and their school.
3. Parent app terms
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of the contact information you provide.
- You will only be able to view live location and route information for your own child, as assigned by the school.
- Notifications (arrival alerts, delays, emergencies) are sent on a best-effort basis and depend on network connectivity, device settings, and the driver's phone signal — RouteSafe cannot guarantee delivery of every alert in real time.
4. School admin module terms
- Schools are responsible for the accuracy of student rosters, route assignments, and parent contact details entered or imported into the Services.
- Schools are responsible for managing which of their staff have admin access, and for promptly removing access for staff who leave or change roles.
- Schools agree to use student data within the admin module solely for operating safe school transportation, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
- Attendance and route data generated by the Services is provided as an operational aid and does not replace a school's own statutory attendance or safety obligations.
5. Driver app terms
- Drivers must keep the RouteSafe Driver app running and signed in while operating an active route, so that location can be shared accurately.
- Drivers are responsible for road safety and compliance with applicable traffic laws at all times; use of the app does not change a driver's responsibilities behind the wheel.
- Driver behavior data (such as speed and route adherence) may be shared with the relevant school for safety monitoring purposes.
6. Accuracy & service limitations
RouteSafe relies on the driver's smartphone GPS and mobile network connectivity rather than dedicated tracking hardware. As a result, location accuracy and update frequency may vary based on signal strength, device performance, battery level, and network conditions. While we aim for high reliability, RouteSafe does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and the Services should not be relied upon as the sole safety measure for a child's transportation.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services to track or monitor any bus, route, or individual you are not authorized to track
- Attempt to access another parent's, school's, or driver's account or data
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the proper functioning of the Services
- Use the Services in a way that violates applicable law
8. Fees & founding schools
RouteSafe has recently launched and is currently onboarding an initial group of founding schools. Specific pricing, billing terms, and any founding-school arrangements will be set out in a separate agreement or order form between RouteSafe and the school, which forms part of these Terms for that school's account. General feature information on our website is for informational purposes and does not itself constitute a binding pricing commitment.
9. Intellectual property
RouteSafe and its logos, app, and platform are the property of RouteSafe and its licensors. Schools and parents are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services as intended, and do not acquire any ownership rights in the underlying software or platform.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RouteSafe is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Services, including delays or inaccuracies in location data. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Services for accounts that violate these Terms, pose a security risk, or where a school's agreement with RouteSafe ends. Schools or parents may stop using the Services at any time; certain data may be retained after termination as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes arising from them will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Kolkata, West Bengal, unless otherwise agreed in a separate written agreement with a school.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to schools and, where relevant, to parents via the app or email, along with an updated "Last updated" date above.
